Good evening,

While I was redoing some other things on my jeep I decided to replace my front axle with a dana 30HP. Very long story short, I didn't stop there and ended up converting to crossover over steering (a regret), relocated my track bar (another regret), and upgraded my brakes using WJ rotors and calipers (yet another regret). I have yet to drive it on the road any length of time so I'm not quite sure how it drives at speed over bumps. I figured I would post some pics on here so folks could give me some opinions on it and either make me fully commit to tearing it out and starting fresh or live with it.

Dana 30 HP
Artec truss kit
Johnny joints at both ends of track bar.
1 1/4" dia. 1/4" wall DOM tubing for tie rod, drag link and track bar
1 ton GM tie rod ends

What I wish I would have done was bought a Currie Dana 44, Currie steering and Vanco big brake conversion. Jeep lives primarily on the road so off road performance is not a must for me. I mostly did it for a project and am now not sure I am happy with the results. I'm hoping to get the last few things buttoned up on the Jeep this weekend so I can start driving it again. Let me know what you think.

Im no Jeep expert, but your gonna have some bump steer quirks. That track bar is super short compared to the drag link.

I'm no expert either, but could you elaborate a little more on why you regret all of your choices if you haven't really driven it yet? Also, why the decision to go to the heavy duty u upgrades if primarily a road goer? I know you said as a project and that it's a very long story, but long stories help answer questions and details.

Ok so I will give you the long story. I have had the jeep since high school circa 2003. Jeep originally came form New York. I wheeled it pretty hard from 03 until 2014. In 2004 I joined the Navy and the Jeep went with me to south Mississippi. After that it went to Maine then Massachusetts then back to New York and now resides in Tennessee. In 2014 the frame was so bad it was no longer safe to drive. I found an absolutely mint frame to replace it with but it had a 4 cylinder. I figured if I was going to cut and weld the frame to put motor mounts in I might as well put a V8 in it. When I pulled the jeep apart I found the tube was not very far behind the frame. I sourced a super clean body and installed it. At this point the Jeep was multiple different colors so I raptor lined it black.

As far as crossover steering on a TJ goes, you could have done a LOT worse. The FB groups are littered with $150 steinjager setups with stock track bars and "no issues".

I say drive it and see what you think before you go back and rip it all out. It might not bother you.
