The P0159 code continues to come on shortly after replacing o2 sensors. I've always got the recommended brands. Is there any way to use a non-fouler or some other device to keep it from going off. This recent time the P1494 code started to show as well and we did replace the indicated problem part. Both codes are still active. Anyone know if there is any relation or any solution? Thanks.

I'd be willing to bet money that somewhere in your wiring harness there is a wire with a break in it. This is more common than you could possibly imagine.

Do you have something you can monitor live ODB data with? Even a cheap Bluetooth ODB dongle and Torque Lite will do it.

We need to monitor O2 voltages and see if they range under .9v.

Also possible in addition to what @Chris mentioned about broken wires is a plugged cat, and possibly an exhaust leak from a cracked header or weld somewhere.

I appreciate the responses, I don't have anything to monitor with but I'll check the wiring harness.

Sure you can use a anti-fouler, take the downstream 02 sensor out, drill the anti-fouler center from the bottom out.

Install the anti-fouler and reinstall the 02 sensor.

Is it the correct way to solve the problem....... nope. Will it work, maybe so, maybe no.
