The track bar really doesn't control alignment it just controls the axles relationship to the frame.Well no....while removing the old tracbar while I was prying the hell out of it I bent the mount a bit lol so I was trying to bend it back into place but after installing the balljoint side it won’t line up....I guess I need to remove the balljoint side and start from the axel because you can move the balljoint around
So wiggle the steering wheel to get the holes to line up instead of removing the cotton pin and castle nut?The track bar really doesn't control alignment it just controls the axles relationship to the frame.
Whether you move the bar to get it into the hole,... Wiggle the end of the ball joint... Or move the wheel so that you can shift the chassis a little bit... The net result is going to be the exact same... And even if you bent the bolt the worst thing you could do is throw your front axle off center 1/16 of an inch or something and probably every TJ on this forum is off that much.
Yes, it's only going to line up correctly when you bolt it up , can shift either way til thenSo wiggle the steering wheel to get the holes to line up instead of removing the cotton pin and castle nut?
The improvement in my steering is tremendous; however, the alignment is wayyyy offCool you should notice it driving quite a bit better.
Good on ya for stepping up and going it alone. You'd likely get some help if participation in the thread and advice department wasn't akin to petting a cactus. He's got you dead on right there , that centers the wheel.
Measure the toe in , you want 1/8 " in front ( less than the on the back side of the front t tire measuring tire to tire )
Also measure wheel to wheel on each side. Should be the same .
These aren't things you altered , just things I check when I get around 1 to kind of see where it's at.
I worked on one last weekend and it was out like an inch and a quarter on toe after a lift for some reason.
Good job , not many girls tackle what you did.

Badabing bada boom! Just did it now lol. I managed to shove a screw driver through the axel mount to secure the nut and torque the bolt ....just need to stop a store and grab a grease gun to grease the balljoint
