Exhaust question - catalytic converter

Hello all,

We just removed the front cats from our 2000 TJ 4.0L manual to find that the rear cat is welded to the front pipe. And the new pipe that we purchased is flanged. So at this point I'm looking to cut the flange off and purchase a new rear cat? Any other suggestions? I might be limited because I want this hting back on the road ASAP.

Just use a U bolt clamp and a slip fit after cutting off the flange.

X2 to what he said. That's the easiest solution.

Or take it to an exhaust shop and have them figure it out for you. Most exhaust shops have very reasonable prices and can have it done while you wait.
