Question for the masses. I'm running an Ultra Gauge on my 2006 Rubicon Auto. Stock gearing and 32" tires. My engine load is usually in the 40% to 50% under normal flat driving. Anything with a hill or putting a lug on the engine it will increase up to 100% very easily.
I also have a 2003 4.0 with 30" and 5 speed that will run typically 20% and will go up under similar conditions, but usually is 25-50% lower on the engine load.
I have a friend with a 2003 Rubicon Auto and 31" tires and his engine load reading will be the same at the 2003 manual.
Any ideas why the "engine load" is so much higher on the 2006 Rubicon?
I know there are a lot of variable that I have looked at: I've switched up Ultra Gauges, MPG is very similar no real differences there, runs good, no misses, spark plugs are good, etc....
Just curious if anyone has any experience with this and has any insight.
Thanks
