Hello everyone,

I am looking for some guidance regarding a problem I am dealing with related to my TJ.

I have a 2003 TJ Rubicon with 31K miles and the 42RLE auto transmission. About a month ago it started idling really rough and driving like it was running on 2 cylinders. It threw a P0325 code.

Since that time I have replaced the spark plugs, ignition coil and the crank position sensor (from Mopar). This has had no effect.

I have checked engine compression and it is perfect. I have also traced all of the wiring from the coil to the PCM and found no holes or exposed wires there or anywhere else in the wiring.

I am not sure where to go next. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you

I see you’re from Ohio. Check the ground wires that attach to the right side of the block for a poor connection.

Thanks for the feedback. I checked the ground and it is tight and just has a bit of surface rust. The Jeep doesn't get driven in the winter months so has no rust. I wire brushed and that did not have an effect on the issue.

Wondering if this might be a fuel injector issue since the error code stays with the #2 cylinder.

Check the voltage at the number 2 injector. Should have close to battery voltage on one wire. The other will be the ground controlled by the PCM.

I pulled the fuel rail and swapped injector #2 with #1. I was hoping that if the #2 injector was bad and I moved it into the 1st cylinder that it would cause the misfire to happen on the 1st cylinder vs. the 2nd. Unfortunately doing this made zero difference. Still throwing the same P0352 code for a 2nd cylinder misfire.
Does this rule out the fuel injectors?

Not sure where to go next. Compression is good, plugs are good, coil is good and fuel delivery is good.

Following up on my previous post in case others find a similar issue. The problem turned out to be lack of continuity in the #3 dark blue wire with the tan trace running from the coil pack to the #9 pin on the C2 connector going to the CPU. This was preventing the coil pack firing #2 and #5 cylinders from functioning. After cutting and soldering in a new wire the Jeep is now running perfectly. I don’t know what caused the issue as I could not find any visible compromises in the wiring harness. Hope this helps someone else.
