EJS 2025

I appreciate the invite but sill on the seach for a TJ, the movers just left yesterday dropping on 4 truck of household goods to our new home. I gave my wife my 2024 JLR-X to trade in on here 2025 Glady. I loved the JLR-X but as far as I was concerned its just a showpiece. I had ever option even the 4:88 gears OEM, wow, but the electronics are mind boggling and I know they get damp and it over Going back to a TJR. Hope to have it by summer. Its not going to be a 7++ trail machine like my 2003 TJR was.
Hope to catch up with you guys I am knocking on the door of 80 and have long since paid my dues in Pritchett Canyon many times over in my days leading runs in Moab. Thank and hopefully I can take rain check...

Good luck on the hunt

Good luck on the hunt

I found one a while back. 2004 TJR, with 4700 mi on it. Estate sale. It order be a guy, he had a stroke and only drove around the block every week and that was it. He died recently. He was the only owner, estate sale $43,000

I called said I would take and jumped in my jeep and my wife and we not made the city limits till I got a fone call that the guy who wanted also had flown in from Ohio and shown up with $43 cash. I was really disappointed. I was living in Naples FL and the jeep was in Miami.

Looking for a Stick shift only TJR UNMOLESTED aka NO lift kit nd excessive mods that require "California Parts"...it will come, right now I am finding mostly AUTOMATiCs that are unmolested.

YES I should have never sold mine, it was the first TJR shipped to an individual (ME), 2nd week in Aug, they did reach the dealers unto about the 4th week...how did I get mine so early. I was consulting for Chrysler Jeep that summer and asked if I could get a Jeep Tj at employee pricing, sure! It came in on the same truck as another. Both were exactly duplicates, same window sticker. Dallas is the training center for new models or new versions. I lived in Dallas , they called and said your Jeep is here...my dealer was even shocked. 2 TJRs, same color, same window sticker options.
JUST LUCK!

I’ll be there the 2nd half of the week. I used to be a trail leader for the event, but have found that doing our own thing has been more enjoyable in recent years. Using a guide book or an onX type app, you can do most any trail there and get to move at your own pace.

IMHO It’s worth experiencing once, even if a bit congested.

thank you

$43,000 for a 20 year old TJ better have tennis balls crammed into the springs.

I'll be there. First time ever at Moab. The routes I signed up for are

Dome Plateau - 14th
Seven Mile Rim - 15th
Fins and Thanks - 16th

Thats a good set for your first time. Dome Plateau is super easy with some optional lines if you want a little fun, but its mostly scenic, and out a different direction than most of the trails so hopefully not too busy. Same with Seven Mile but it is more popular and in a more popular area, but a good trail with a mix of scenery and technical stuff that is also optional if you want it to be.

Fins and things is probably an EJS participant only trail for the week so hopefully not too crowded but i would expect it to be a lot of waiting for the rest of the group to clear an obstacle followed by a short drive and more waiting at the next obstacle.

Should be a good time, you'll love Moab, its a whole different world from probably anything you've ever wheeled.

I don't care what the mileage was on that TJR; spending $43K for a 20 year old Jeep is ridiculous.
For that much money you could buy 2 TJRs and have money left over to conduct repairs or modifications.

There is a history there. The joke is to make him defend it.

Any updates on EJS attendance next week? We are rolling into Moab Tomorrow. I’d love to link up with someone wanting to do Top of the world.

I believe you can get to Top of the World from Rose garden hill. I’ve not done it but if you want to do TotW you are in the area.

Headed home from EJS. We did not get stuck in any traffic. Hit Hells revenge, Jax tracks, behind the rocks, rose garden hill, backwards bill, and Pritchet canyon. On the last day the Metalcloak trailer was open so I took the LJ and they were surprised how well it did!
