Egypt Fiasco

Arrived in Luxor around 2 AM last nite. It was a VERY eventful day. Two long stories made short:

1) I ran all over half of Cairo on foot, looking for a luggage lock I never found. Took a tuk-tuk cab back to the hotel. That was a hoot! Americans could never drive like they do here (and in Greece). Missed countless vehicles by inches, and was on the wrong side of a 4 lane boulevard at one point - but I felt completely secure.

2) Got into an argument at the baggage carousel - voices were raised. A Liberal Karen thought she'd butt in and tell me "You can't talk to people like that." Game on! I told her EXACTLY what I thought about her butting in "you fucking BIden voter, BUTT OUT." It was UGLY, and I let her have it with both barrels - twice. I would have let her have it again on my way out, but she was gone by then. I'll be damned if I'm going to suffer being lectured by a effin' Biden voter. I absolutely LOATH self-righteous people.

Yuck!
I'm sorry your intestines tried to become outestines.
Even worse, you had to interact with a mental defective.

Egypt is much nicer in pictures. Seeing the sights is cool, but the fact that they're in that shithole...bleh.

I really don't find it to be a shithole, although it certainly is poor. I could live here, although I'd prefer Greece. The Egyptians are very gracious people, even more so than the Greeks I think. They remind my wife of the Guatemalans she sees every year when she goes on her Church's medical mission. Being driven around in Cairo, reminds me of how much I miss that energy which is very similar to Greece. Best of all to my mind, the Egyptians certainly are not effete like Americans are. Unfortunately, the smartphone contagion has reached this place as well, although its not as bad as the US - yet.

One thing that is very nice - and noticeable - both here and in Greece, is the general lack of nanny statism, although its starting to creep in here. New tuk-tuks are prohibited from being imported because they're not SAAAAAAFE, for instance.

I've visited only through port Suez, port Said, and Alexandria.
All were horrible for services, cleanliness and logistics, and getting stuff done was always a pain in the ass.
Nearly had an international incident when one of my guys intervened in an Egyptian contractor beating the shit out of his Kenyan "worker" with a no shit, whip for getting a drink of the water we put out for them.
They had about 20 Kenyans breaking up concrete on the pier by hand in 115 degree heat while 3 "foremen" kept them working.
We put out water and Gatorade for our own people and then put out some for them.
When one took us up on it, he got beat. One of our security detail pulled the foreman off of him and delivered some pretty severe blows.
It got really spicy for a while and remained openly hostile the whole week.
Glad I saw all the sights before that because I haven't cared for the place since.

Got any pictures of the tuk-tuks?

Ya gotta be tough to work the waterfront. Port Said in particular has always been known to be a wretched hive of scum and villainy...

I only know Port Said from this CLASSIC album:

I took me a bit, but I found the ORIGINAL album cover, complete with what we call a "full service dancer":

Thank you.
I went against Benny Hills advice and kind of assumed they were motorized, just didn't know anything from there.
That bottom one would work good for hauling hay!

I don't know if that bottom one is technically a Tuk Tuk or not. But its amazing how much gets done in the rest of the world without a double cab monstrosity pickup. Every time I'm over on this side of the Atlantic, my general disdain and disgust for the average American just grows exponentially. Effete as fuck, spoiled, far more money - or at least credit - than brains, regimented lifestyle, horrid food, self righteous, extraordinarily rude. Gigantic, stupid vehicles; nobody knows how to fucking drive, the list goes on. I'm sick of it to be honest, that American Karen c*** is but one example of what wearies me. I at last now have my wife talking again about escaping to Greece. Americans have stopped caring. Oh, and MOST certainly no Woke, DEI, or other fucktard bullshit is evident here.

In any event, went to a small temple that was once dedicated to the Goddess Isis - now THAT was an experience. I'll dump the camera into the computer here in a bit, and post a couple or three pix.

Are you wearing a skirt over there (no need for photos :D), and if so, how do the natives react?

I wish I was - but no. Wife won't let me. I'll wear one on performance nite, but that's it. Incidentally, we have another male dancer on the tour. He's been Belly Dancing about 18 months, and has been doing Brazilian dance for a few years, and tap I think.

Oh, c'mon ya big wuss. Real Men wear skirts anywhere they want. :D :p :ROFLMAO::sick::eek:

A couple or three images from inside the Isis temple. The energy in this place was very interesting, and we raised a bit more while we were in there! We also were allowed up on the roof, which is normally closed to tourists. Nothing particularly remarkable other than going through a 3,000 year old staircase in the inside of the wall. A few of the dancers did a bit. Karnak tomorrow, I swapped in the camera lenses I want to use tomorrow, debating if I want to take one camera (and which one) with 2 lenses, or if I should just take 2 cameras so I'm not swapping lenses in the Egyptian dust...
