Egypt Fiasco

Had Montezuma's Revenge a couple times. Mountain Dew and soda crackers was all I could eat the last time. I heard Cheezits are good too. Have to remember, keep your trap shut when showering, brush teeth with bottled water and don't eat any fresh fruit or vegetables, the water they wash them in can make you sick. And no raw seafood. Also have to beware of ice cubes. I never cross borders without the pink stuff.

Hope you're both ship shape soon.

I dunno...I feel like I could've gone without that info. 😂

Yea, after I posted that I thought "Hmmm, gripping reading!" Still, if you can't trust your fellow Jeepers, who can you trust? Thanx to @Sea Cot for the Pizza Hut rec, I would have never known of it, thought of it, or even seen it otherwise.

My boss is from Egypt and said to call you a pussy, even his 5'1" blonde wife from California can handle it.

I've never been, but definitely had a few scares when I was in China for a month. So I can't confirm what he is claiming ;) I hope things improve quickly for you both

The thing is, nobody else in the group developed this problem. My wife has a notoriously delicate digestion, but I got it too and got it first. OTOH, its explained to me that this is fairly common, but perhaps not for the same reasons. I dunno.

I gotta get the wife able to travel - right now, we're looking at an abort. I'll be (attempting to) call the travel insurance people later today to see what they recommend and can do for us.

That definitely kills any trip, hope she turns the corner and there's at least something the travel insurance can do.

I hope she starts feeling better and the exit plan is not too difficult . Hang in there brother.

She's feeling somewhat better, I'm feeling slightly worse. I don't think we're going to completely leave this behind us until we're outta here...

Waiting for a doctor to show up and do an eval - I dunno if we'll meet the criteria for them to pay the flight charges or not, but at this point, I don't care too much - I just wanna go home. What a fucking disaster...

Around and around and around it goes....

Where this merry go round stops, nobody knows.

Wife saw a doc today. We're cautiously optimistic (now) that we'll be able to pick up the 2nd half of this damn thing. Its just different native "bugs" than what we're used to. Why Carla and I (both) got this and nobody else in the group did is one of life's mysteries.

Light candles, burn incense, say prayers, bow towards Mecca...

We made it up the hill today, and got a few pix of the pyramids. Didn't get any good ones of the Sphinx because we couldn't find how to get into the damn thing, it has its own compound inside the pyramids complex. No signs, blah, blah - and by then my wife was so weak and in some distress, so we took the best pix we could and came home. Leave (at last!) for Luxor tomorrow.

What are you taking these pics on?

Great pics, sorry to hear about you guys being sick. Nothing worst than on a trip out of the country. At least you have travel insurance. I always have that and meds for most things or at least buy locally if I can.
