I sent this, working and good shape, packed and dammit one tab is bent.

Anyone have this , I thought I saw someone bend it back?

very common when shipping them. my Dana 44 locker arrived with one bent like yours and the other broken off. I've also read of people carefully bending them back and even welding them back on the stator, but I ended up dropping the $200+ for the part from eaton, which btw, you can't buy separate, it comes with the thrust bearing and race.

probably best practice is to remove the stator from the locker when shipping and either pack it separate or ship completely separate.

If it was mine, I'd mark the tab location on stator and then support the tab frame from the opposite side of prong before bending back into position. If the tack welds break, finish straightening tab and weld back with heavy tack welds in location previously marked. You can always shell out some bucks for a new part.

I’m the one that bought the locker. I got it bent back. There was no good way to support the welded portion. But it didn’t break or anything.

good deal. since there are so many from the texas triangle here, we should get a group together for a hidden falls weekend. I need to get out there for a good shakedown once i get all my suspension sorted.

I agree. May be tough this fall, My daughter is a Longhorn Soph so I’ll be at a lot of games, and looking for it to cool down ha.

The bridge on 1431 opened back up ahead of schedule too, so access is easy from Cedar Park, Round Rock.

Your wallet thanks you!

Hah, yeah I didn’t really love the idea of needing to buy a stator. $257 is the advertised price so probably close to $300 after everything else.

Not sure how soon I’ll install it though. I JUST finished building those axles with stock carriers. Really not feeling like going back in there.

Agree on waiting till things cool down, although it’s been a fairly mild summer in Houston. We’re also longhorns so would target an away game weekend.
