Fwiw, the nissan xterra and frontiers were available with D44s and elockers also with early versions coming with two spiders and later ones getting four, mine had the 4 spider version, and i witnessed a guy blow up a 2-spider version when one tire slipped off a rock and transferred all the torque through the side opposite the lock up side. The elocker only locks the spider on one side, therefore the locking action on the opposite axle gets transferred through the spider gears and is a weak point on the two spider version.
