What size units do you have ? I am trying to decide on size

That and do you want a dual or single zone unit?

I've thought that having one larger as a fridge and a smaller one as a freezer might be the better choice.

50 single zone which is a good size for me. My dometic was 75 dual zone and it was enormous, way too big. Keeping stuff frozen uses a lot of power so factor that in. I don’t miss the freezer

I'd just like the idea of ice cream bars on the trail... No really good reason for the freezer other than that.

I ended up with 35 and 55 with that same idea. When we have tons of room we take both. Then have the option of small or big for other trips.

Note: As of now I have never had tons of room to take both but that’s how justified it.

I was looking at the 45 and the 55 they seam like a good size. If I go with one of these I don't want to carry a cooler so it needs to be big enough for food and Beer, Water and Sodas

I only have experience with the OLD 12V coolers. I had one that I used in my semi when I was driving long haul and then used it in my Samurai when I went camping. But they cooled 20-30* below whatever the outside them was.

This is where I'm at. I want it to replace the ice chest and not have to worry about it.

I did it once and it burned through all my power and I never used the freezer again lol.

Will it kill a battery overnight? The freezer part? Or if you have a dual zone and have it set for both? And do the insulated covers help?

I have a 1400 goal zero, one side fridge one side freezer and on a short weekend it burned through the whole battery (1.5days). I can easily get 7 days just in a fridge.
