Dry cut saw

I finally used the Skil dry cut saw to make a couple cuts. It was 2" x 3/8" steel bar. So much better than my Makita abrasive chop saw. Quiet, no sparks, and smooth! Thanks for posting this deal, @mrblaine!

Edited because I apparently can't spell correctly anymore. Sheesh.

I’ve now used the Skil saw enough to proclaim it an awesome deal. This is soooo much better than an abrasive chop saw!

They tend to fill that niche between a machine shop grade cold saw and the horrible abrasive chop saws. Very hard to beat them for what we do and what we need them to do. My only issue with the Makita version I've been using for 20+ years is there are a few times I wish it had a 14" blade. Not the same Makita, second one.

Finally had a chance to use mine and it's an impressive saw. It cut through 1/4" mild steel like it was nothing. What was most impressive, there was virtually no sparking when making cuts. Note for others, after I used the saw and blew off all the metal, I noticed the removable debris reservoir. :cautious:
