Hey Y’all. My husband and I thought our actuator pin was broken because our 2003 Jeep Wrangler wouldn’t start. Our new pin came in and went to install it and noticed the module was melted in the middle. We order and new one and hooked all the wires up like the old one and the Jeep cranked right up. The only problem was the headlights were staying on all the time. We had to disconnect the battery to get them to turn off.
I was wondering if anyone has pictures of how this module is supposed to be wired because some wires were not connected when we found it (it was melted in the middle).
Thank y’all for your help!

That connector might be the weak link in a poorly grounded system of lights etc. Bad grounds are common on jeeps along with rust belt locations which exaggerate the issue. Bad grounds cause resistance, resistance causes heat and things begin to melt like your connector. So check your grounds where you can find them. Up by the headlights and grill, frame grounds kinda thing is always good to do. Clean metal, snug screws where grounds are landed is the key.
