Do you have a sunshade?

The mesh shades aren’t going to do anything significant to stop the wind.

Your best friend to stop wind is a soft top.

I’m saving up for a Bestop. Not sure which one, this is a stopgap measure for those extra sunny days.
Thanks for the info :-)

What people have to remember is they work differently in different parts of the country- They may not be as popular in southern California or Arizona where it gets extremely hot but in temperate climate they are fantastic and they can keep you from burning alive at a red light-

I have mine here in Southern California and it’s what allows me to drive “topless” in the summer. Without, the direct sun is to intense for me.

It literally just takes the edge off.

As far as wind reduction in the rear I would say not noticeable however I have the bikini size not the full length.

The attached video was the day I installed it. Now it’s taught and no longer has wrinkles.

That makes complete sense to me-

I’ve sort of a imagined if someone was going extremely slow —for example rock crawling....a full shaded type top may be preferable.

My experience has always been similar to yours it was really just enough to make it tolerable when things were super hot.

Today I was out on a trail and decided my dog in the back would be happier with the side windows off - but where to put them? Between the Alien shade and the soft top was the perfect location. Out of the way and able to lie flat. :D

We have some random mesh top, it may be a Besttop. Knocks the severity of the sun down and helps with the breeze a good bit

We run it with no doors practically year round, we just had 48 straight days of 100+ temps

My spider web shade is makes a huge difference with the sun but doesn’t do anything for wind for the kids in the back. I gave my son a pair of ear muffs and now he loves it.

I’ve had the shade about a month and the kids say it might be a little better, but the ear muffs made all the difference for them!

They went from enjoying backroads and reluctantly tolerating the highway for 10 minutes to begging to take the Jeep everywhere we go. They climb in, immediately pop on the earmuffs and grin the whole drive.

BEST suggestion. You have my thanks Mr. Dong.

Also, no sunscreen needed with the shade - all of us prefer that.

If you want to be able to talk with everyone, get an intercom system such as the rugged radios one. You can also take phone calls and listen to music through it if desired.
