DIY Speaker Pods

I have a dual 10" in my way back and I feel it throughout the cabin.

That Kicker is great choice, look at their dual 12" boxes and throw it in the way back. I made a quick disconnect so when I need the rear cargo space you can easily remove.

My 2 cents...

Me Too. With the quick disconnects. It still rocks. Ten years later.

Curious about how you ported the soundbar enclosures. I have the pods and wonder if porting would help.

Ive seen some mixed reviews on the Rockville underseat subs but tempted to try one out.

porting is about diameter and length for the enclosure volume. 1/2" ports are the same as no ports.

if i was to do the soundbar now, after getting the front speakers with ports fabricated and installed, i guess they need a curved port.

i havent looked into them and likely wont with the front ported speaker pods working so well. if i do, they will match the volume as well as possible.

i know that the 5.25" k152 front plate ports are 1-1/8" so thats a good place to start. dont think its needed.

Realistically the best way would to be either measure the T/S parameters of the speakers or replace them with something of known values, and measure the volume of the boxes. then from there, a target tuning frequency and some math would tell you a lot more about what it needs for a port, if any port is even needed.

or have the same speakers in the soundbar AND compare them to the 5x6 jbl speakers i just trashcanned. also notice the louder bass from the front speakers....

thanks for the feedback....
