Did Teraflex use an existing backing plate in disc brake conversion kit?

Hey everyone, I have the Teraflex disc brake conversion kit for my rear 8.8 axle https://teraflex.com/ford-teraflex-rear-disc-brake-conversion-kit.html

I sheared the top caliper mounting bolt on the passenger side and I can't get the remaining portion out of the threaded hole. I think I have ruined the piece with all my attempts to remove the bolt.

Looking around the web, I came across a 1993-98 ZJ backing plate assembly kit https://www.quadratec.com/products/56217_0000.htm which looks almost identical.

Does anyone know if Teraflex used a backing plate from an existing vehicle in their kit?
I have a hard time thinking they would make something custom since so many parts exist from production vehicles.

I don't need a full kit, only the backing plate with the threaded holes to mount the caliper.

The closest thing to yours is the disc brake backing plate from the Ford 8.8. The others will have a different housing end bolt pattern. The ZJ backing plate would need the center bore opened up most like and then the housing bolt pattern would have to be slotted to match the one on the 8.8

Other aftermarket versions also exist. If the pics show the holes to be other than round, probably will fit. What is not a direct bolt up are the ones from the TJ, Liberty, ZJ, and TJ Unlimited.

Have you tried calling Teralfex? I have it but for a Dana 35. Stops great and easy to work on now

The one for the 8.8 is not the least bit custom. It uses the exact same parts that are found on the Explorer 8.8 backing plate in ever single aspect. Put another way, they made an exact copy of the ones on the 8.8.

So, does this mean when I am going to need replacement e-brake shoes, I will look for ones for a 2003 Ford Explorer?
What about the disc brake pads? Are the calipers also from a 2003 Ford Explorer rear axle?

Not according to the Buyer's Guide.

The pads should be the 667 for the same years as the Buyer's Guide. Larger rose clip to fit into the steel pistons.

95-01 is what I see.
