Hey all I just picked up this awesome all stock 97 tj in the second owner and it’s only got 50k on the odometer. Only issue I’ve found is the dash lights. I’ve replaced fuse 1 and 10. #1 was blown. I also replaced the headlight/ dimmer switch. Any advise where to look?

Sorry... thought you were looking for the part number.. I see you're hoping for help with troubleshooting.

The #10 fuse was probably out because removing it extinguishes the dome light and door chime when doors are off.

Are all the dash lights out? Center stack and cluster?

If just the cluster, first course of action is remove the gauge cluster (you have to unsnap the trim at the base of the windshield, remove the two screws that secure knee bolster, four screws that secure the cluster surround and then four screws that secure the cluster itself). Clean the contacts on the back and apply dielectric gel. Common issue with all the open air the TJ sees.

Checked the #10 fuse. It was good. I pulled the cluster as well and checked the light bulbs. All the idiot lights on the cluster work but I can’t get the illumination in the cluster and on the heater/ ac switch to work

Long shot.. Are the bulbs in the cluster the original incandescent bulbs or were they swapped out for LEDs?

Fuse 10 is switched power to the cluster.

Backlight for the cluster and dash is fuse 12.

Fuse 1 that was blown is marker lights and then through the dimmer switch goes through fuse 12 to illuminate the dash and cluster. Check fuse 1 again as you may have had a short on the marker lights circuit.
