Looking for a code reader in the 150 dollar range that can push the TCM into a quick learn in my 04. Not sure such a thing exists, but thought I’d ask. Tough to find that information online. Anything I’m seeing that can definitely do it is 800 dollars and up.

Check with Jscan. I used it to do the TCM Adaptive relearn on my NAG1 in my Grand Cherokee the other day. Only $25. I didn't know the Chrysler trannies needed this though? Maybe I should do it on the 545RFE in my Hemi Jk. It seems to change gears with little throttle input.

The guy that rebuilt my transmission let me use his and do it myself. Took under five minutes. I wish I could remember what it was but I know it was an actual Android based software. Maybe stop by your local transmission shops and see if someone would do it for you? Also, it won’t work with any codes present in the PCM/TCM.

It is weird though, because it’s designed to test the condition of the clutches and fluid to determine how to shift. Theoretically, you would need to do this anytime you changed your fluid, which granted isn’t often with an auto.

Thanks for the tip. I checked into it and it only goes back to JK's.

Mike does the Snap On Solus do what you need? If it does I could slap it into a flat rate box and loan it to you. I don't need it right now so I'm OK with loaning it to you.
I'm not sure where to look but if you can verify it'll work the offer is there.

Thank you, Rick, that is a very generous offer. I think it does. I’ll see if I can find out for sure. I’m going to call Dealership tomorrow too, just to get an idea what they’ll charge me

Just let me know. If it does I'll box it up and ship it this week. I'm glad to help if I can.

I have something that is supposed to work on its way from Amazon. I got a quote of 170 bucks at the dealer and they were two weeks out! Its literally a five minute process...unbelievable. Anyway, if the scanner I ordered doesn't work, I'll take you up on that offer. I found one on Ebay for 250 too...so if I can figure yours out...maybe I'll purchase one.

The device I bought worked! It’s actually pretty cool…it can read everything. Uses your smart phone and a Bluetooth connection to tell the device what to do. Comes in a nice storage case too

Here is the one I bought

Now to figure out why my brake lights are not working and take it for a drive to see off my shifting issues are fixed.
