Our 99 has a key switch , our 04 you would have to pull both fuses .

Yes and no. I have friends like that, and whenever their car needs any kind of maintenance/repair, they fear the worst knowing nothing about cars and just assume they are being lied to about everything. They also tend to replace cars every 5 years because they fear what will happen outside of warranty.

Turn off the airbag (via key or fuse), slide the seat all the way back, and ensure your kid is in the correct seat for their height and weight. Done.

There's loads of vehicles without back seats warranting a best effort kind of case.

If he would just let the kid drive, he could sit there and drink and have a good time. We’ve got to Americanize this guy.

I remember standing on the front seat of the neighbor ladies 59 Buick Flat top Invicta . Someone ran a red light on a cross street and Florence slammed the brakes HARD on the Buick , it stood on it's nose and we skidded into intersection barely missing the light runner . Of course it was safe in that 1965 kind of way , Florence threw her right arm out and hit me real hard slamming a 5 year old me against the front seat back. She screamed " You Son of a Bitch " and the top of her lungs while doing all the other actions. At the end of the day , God smiled on both of us and prevented a far worse outcome.
