Centerforce Throwout Bearing

So I ordered the LUK 05-065 clutch kit and came with the composite TOB seen a lot of iffy reviews on it, mechanic said he can get me a centerforce TOB for about $50 curious if I should do that or run the LUK composite bearing, I have until tomorrow to let him know

If they will do a warranty on the centerforce, go with it. But I think it's really just a tossup from when I researched and did mine a number of years ago. Is $50 worth the bet on them knowing and seeing more than you? I don't think you'd ever know one way or the other.

My experience (sample size of 1): My LUK was in my jeep for a few years before going into the other party of my autoswap, and last I heard he was still running it 3 years later.

They will warranty either TOB 12 months or 12k miles whichever comes first, just from my research I wanna say I have seen more people talking about replacing the composite TOB then guys saying they like them, OEM was steel for a reason I think

That's probably fair, did you see this thread? I'd take the 12 month/12k bet easily with pretty much any bearing available, despite the following thread being an NSG370. Hopefully others with the earlier manual have experience to share as they check in.

Hello all,

First a little background. I have a 2005 LJ with the NSG-370 6 speed trans. At around 147,900 miles the throw-out bearing let go on my drive home. I daily drive the LJ around 100 miles each day. The T/O bearing let go about a quarter way into my drive home. I put around 50 miles on the jeep with a completely destroyed T/O bearing before I was able to change it out. I used a Luk clutch kit (Luk 05-065) and used the included "plastic" T/O bearing. After replacing everything I took the LJ for a test drive and found no issues. That was the thread where he replaced 2 TOB back to back and they both got messed up right? I think I’ve read every clutch review out there lol
