Canadian side Niagara Falls

Taking as trip to Niagara Falls, Canadian side this summer with the wife and teenage kids. We plan on doing behind the falls, maid of the mist, and just hanging out to enjoy the views. I would also like to check out/tour the power plant.

Looking for any pointers on that, and if there's anything else that I should consider?

A nice side trip would be to take the Niagara Parkway up to Niagara on the Lake. It's a bit of a tourist trap (like the Falls isn't!? haha) but it's a good scenic drive with a lot of history in the area. The Shaw Festival and Fort George are also worthwhile. The Niagara Falls hydro plant tour would also be good. Hard to believe what they accomplished all those years ago.
