BFG KO2's on a daily driver (am I going to regret it?)

I went to the BFG KO3 site and put in Wrangler Rubicon (I have Rubicon wheels) and it came up with LT245/75R16/E 120P for the tire. The message below this said:

The tire sites try to tell me all they have to fit mine are 215-75-15s and 31 x 9.5-15s.

Don't use their sizing chart. Decide what size tires you want, then search without inputting your vehicle.

no, it's a stock 65 A body. has later GM disc brakes on the front but that's it.

I meant that there are probably some nice upgrades available to buy.

I keep seeing some really clean 326 leMans for under 10k near me. Tempting, they are good looking cars!

My dad just jnstalled them on his LJR in the last couple months. They may just be out of stock at the distributor level.

BTW, we've been talking cars over here https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/car-pics-too-cool-not-to-share.59109/ and I don't think I've seen you post. Come share your ride and be the second Poncho guy. :sneaky:

I would put the tread on the front. You do turn at the front not the rear. you can go easy on the gas pedal but when you need to turn, you need to turn.

That's interesting. I always put the tires with the most tread at the rear on my pickup since the rear tires wear far faster, but I never run them down to where I am concerned about the tread being too low on either axle.

I've also heard that having more tread on the back helps stability, you don't have to worry about the rear end wanting to come around on you.

IMHO, if you cannot steer you do not have control. Just a lesson I learned a long time a go.

I went with the General Grabber ATX and have been quite pleased. Though not a daily, i dont think twice to drive five hours to wheel in PA. I remember they were cheaper as well.

I’m looking at these tires too. I have a 16” wheel, so my options are limited. I’m between a Falken Wildpeak in 265/75R16 and the General Grabbers in 265/70R16. I like the raised white lettering, but I’m sacrificing an inch in tire diameter in order to run them. Is it worth the trade off? Do you run the LT version or SL?

I run the Grabber. Best AT I have ever ran.
You will struggle to find a E rating that is not 16”.

I'm very late to this thread. FWIW, I ran 30x9.5 BFG KO2s on my stock-light SE for several years. On the street, they did not "hum" like a mud tire on the highway or anything, but they did give a notable "rushing" sound that certainly added to the overall road noise. I recently changed to cheap street tires, and I can definitely tell the difference in volume.

My Ranger Raptor came factory fitted with KO2s and I dont mind them at all. I also dont expect sports car handling etc from it so you need to have certain expectations. I've done rock crawling and soft sand no issues.

When I figure out what wheels I want for my TJ I'm considering the KO2s as an option.
