Bedtred seems too big

I picked up the Bedtred full cargo kit for my ‘98 TJ but when fitting it feels a bit too big for the car.

When I fit the drivers rear wheel arch I keep ending up with so much slack at either end depending on where I start at. I just can’t seem to get it to fit correctly.

Similar with the curve for the rear floor piece. When it’s lined up with the rear ledge the curve to drop down into the front feels about 1” too long and I’m having to bend it at unnatural places.

Is this normal or do I need to try and do something differently?

Example here vs the original carpet. The round hole for the roll bar lines up exactly.

If I need to start cutting I will but half the reason I went with Bedtred was because I wasn’t supposed to have to.

Another pic here. Can see the back edge is perfectly lined up and yet the roll bar hole is miles away from where it needs to be.

I can cut it but I’m going to end up with loads of gaps I imagine.

I forced mine in and trimmed as needed. Can’t say it has any big gaps anywhere. Mash it in and let it marinate a few weeks and cut as necessary.

I had to do a lot of trimming when I installed mine. I was very unimpressed with the product. I have the Bedrug in the front and it fits well. The Bedtread in the rear was very difficult to get fitted right and required a lot off trimming. I also was surprised how much louder my Jeep was after installing it. I've since just gone back to the factory carpet.

Given the cost I was certainly expecting a lot better. I actually wanted the Bedrug but couldn’t find a supplier here in Europe

Mine wrapped around the bar. The back looks like it needs to go more passenger.
