BedRug or BedTred?

Just no easy answers. What I want is a form fitting thick mat like what used to be in pickup trucks years back. If it weren't for the heat issue, I'd do bed liner all day long - but the heat issue is real, so that's out. But I also absolutely, positively DO NOT want carpet or "rug" - such has NO business in a truck or Jeep.

Hmmm... Thinking out loud here - maybe form fitting rubber mats like weathertech combined with some generic rubber matting cut to fit over the tunnel - both laid over heat shield. Then again, the precise fit of the weathertechs might work against me. Dunno!
There is something like that, i have seen it in Jeep while visiting a junk yard.
Pretty much a rubber mat, much thicker than bedrug, I have also found it online, but i can not remember where or who is the maker

What's behind this? I've run BedRug in three Jeeps and two trucks, with zero complaints. One in the truck was there for 7+ years and subjected to heat, water, hauling complete axles, lots of Jeep parts, appliances, mulch, gravel, dirt, and more. The only bad thing I can say happened as the result of a forklift driver doing the opposite of what I told him. He slid a heavy pallet across it and tore the bottom. A little construction adhesive remedied the problem quickly though!

It would be a nice solution if made well. Why anyone would want carpet in a Jeep/truck is beyond me.

I would consider the "Cutpile" from ACC rather than the "Essex". Cutpile is in between stock and bedrug IIRC. I don't know if it comes with mass backing. But sound deadener and\or heat shield is a better solution.

I purchased and installed Essex. It is very well formed carpet. And installed beautifully.

@Chris used a thick rubber/foam sheeting on his last build. It was like a half inch thick. Maybe he'll chime in.

I have a friend that has the bedrug and really likes it.

My OEM rug is still in decent shape, I have the Quadratec mats up front. Though if the rug ever falls apart, I would replace with the bedrug.

Sounds good to me!
NITB is taking a group. Saw it on FB. Meeting this Sat at 8:30 AM at the same gas station in CdA. leaving from there at 9 to go to Pinehurst. Looks like a small group, but you never know.

Yea, just found that. Says 35s and lockers minimum. I don't recall Compressor being that difficult

I don’t have 35’s 🤣

Did you do this trail? I’ve done rollercoaster and Denver, but not compressor
