Because you need to know the rules for "Ducking"

What's wrong with sharing the joy and love of Jeeps?

Don't believe the "curmudgeon few" < lol, who would go berserk if they found some kid, or adult for that matter, ducking their Jeep. In my area the Jeep owners, Jl, JK and TJ's would give up their first born rather then part with one their rubber ducks. The closet duck hoarders are like this song... just replace jars of gold with baskets of ducks.

Don't know much about the ducking, nor do I really care. But I grew up in an area where, regardless of intent, you didn't touch other people's vehicles (or any other property, for that matter) without consulting the owner first...unless you really wanted your ass handed to you. Common courtesy.

What did you do in the past when you discovered a flyer under your wiper?

I've not had that issue, though it illustrates the point regarding a lack of common courtesy.

Some folks don't like strangers messing with their stuff, yet others think it's okay to do so. Where I grew up, doing the latter just might get your ass kicked....and I don't have a problem with that, for the record. This isn't a free-for-all, actions have consequences in this world and it would seem many have either forgotten that fact or never learned it in the first place.

Maybe relationship-dependent, but I'm guessing that if most guys here were out with their wife/girlfriend and a stranger walked up and grabbed her ass...that stranger might just get stomped like a narc at a biker rally (extra points if your wife/girlfriend does the beat down). I'd say the action is justified and the swifter the better. Afford others courtesy and receive the same, show others disregard and get your face filled in.

Edit: Related subject...as I understand it there are groups of climate activists in a number of cities now (started in Europe) that have taken to deflating SUV and Jeep tires if parked in metro areas. If you were to walk up on someone in the act of doing this to your vehicle, what would you do? I suspect at some point one of them is going to get caught and end up injured or worse.

If it isn't yours leave it alone. I learned this at a very young age, clearly I incorrectly assumed everyone else had as well...

I still think 'Whiskeying' would be better. Leave a small bottle of whiskey. Much better than ducks.

I was going to try it a couple weeks ago to see how people liked it. Bought a dozen whiskey bottles, but ended up drinking all of them. Oops!

lol- a guy in our group rides has a sticker that says I’m over 21, leave liquor not ducks- and he swears people have left him bottles!

Years back here in Ca a group of so called activists set a row of SUVs on fire at a dealership. Create a plum of toxic smoke and gas to protest pollution. Go figure.

It's not like the activists are particularly bright.

It seems most of them are as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Unfortunately it doesn't take brains

I've never been into the duck thing, but have accepted a few just to be polite. I'll give them to my dog or just toss them. I was a little shocked recently when I went to a former wheeling friends house to pickup free Jeep parts. She bought a JLUR 392, but isn't wheeling anymore. She was excited to give me a duck. I was like... Um... thanks I think...

I lost a little bit of respect for her that day. Still tempted to buy her previous 2012 JK 2 door that is well built and she's selling dirt cheap.

I do not disagree with hands off. However, I do not get bent out of shape for someone putting a flyer under my wiper blade or a duck on my door handle. Now, deflate my tire or cause damage and they will be sitting on the ground waiting for the cops to arrive.
