Oh already been through it twice to get it inspected. The first CSP guy was cool. All I had to do was have "rebuilt from salvage" stamped in the door. I did that and went back and the next douch sent me away before I checked in staying I didn't have front turn signals.

I'll figure out something for that but I have to get through my suspension rebuild first.

Ohh I see okay. Yeah the CHP is way more thorough for some reason. Does your county sheriff not do it? TCS called it a "certified VIN inspection"
 
Jerry rigged up some sketchy stuff to get the axles in as far as I can.

Still wasn't enough. Those C clips are just too wide for the porthole in the trutrac. Probably why it got redesigned..... I shaved a bit off of them to make 'em fit. Just a tiiiny bit.

Noticed one of the upper control arm bushings is demolished while putting the axle back in. Not sure why this one is so bad, when the one on the other side looks just fine.

Guess I am calling Core4x4 to see if they can tell me a part number to rebuild this or sell me one. Guess taking it for a drive is getting pushed back a bit longer....

Glad you got it back together... Bummer about the bushing... Hopefully you can get a new one ASAP.. You'll be back on the road before I will. And kudos for working out in the cold.

Yeah lame! I will probably just throw it back in there to get it in place so I can get the axle "in" and take it back out when the bushing arrives. Probably will end up getting a bushing for the other side anyways while I'm at it.

It's 31 out! Barely even starting to be cold!!

Yep, I'd replace both sides also just to be on the safe side...

Check out the synergy ddb bushings. If you can find a fit they could give a bit more flex. Kinda like the metalcloak joints?

The Synergy DDB don’t have rubber vulcanized to a ball. They have free motion in one plane. Better than MC.

Called Core4x4 this morning to get the PN of the bushing in the control arm. It is a Moog k3128. Unfortunately it doesn't look like any of the DDBs have the same dimensions.

The Moog part has an OD of 2.23", while the DDBs go from 2.249" to 2.124", so too big or too small. Oh well, 2 of the Moogs are 12$ so I have some more on the way.

I bet this rotted bushing has made my jeep drive like crap unknowingly for a long time
