Austin's 98 TJ

Did the other rock slider this morning. Took it off, cut it apart, cleaned it up, welded it back together but in a bit of a different position as well as welding the bolts to it rather than nuts. Then I grinded down the welds, painted, then put it back on. It fits way nicer now and is much easier to take on and off

Where area are we looking at?

This is all off of old nc 105 in nebo nc. It’s an old “highway” that’s just a pretty rough gravel road now. A sedan could do it, but it wouldn’t be easy. Surrounds linville gorge. Near lake James if you know that area. Sunset photos are from the top of pinnacle trail. Jeep is in front of shortoff mountain which is my favorite hike in the area.

I've been in the Linville area a few times but really haven't spent much time there. Isn't Brown Mt OHV trail in that area?

Yeah, it is. I am yet to go there, just because timing and stuff hasn’t worked out, but plan to go sometime soon. It doesn’t seem like a great place for Jeeps, just from what I’ve seen online. Looks like a side by side and dirt bike park.

Linville is a beautiful area, Ive practically grown up inside of the gorge and know the place so well. I highly recommend anyone just goes up to see the area and do some small hikes.

I need to explore it more. We always spent time in Bryson City when I was a kid, and lately I've gotten to know Boone fairly well. Maybe I can shoot the middle and see more of the Linville area soon.

You totally should. Boone is great, but much more touristy. You get into linville and see everything plus more but with way less people around.

Last time I checked, I think there was only one trail for Jeeps/trucks and it wasn’t very long.

A cousin of mine has been after me to go there with him. IDK if a short trail is worth a 2-hour drive.

I do know that I want to run Hurricane Creek trail soon, but that's a little further west.

I’ve seen hurricane creek online. Looks like a good fun trail. I’ll have to get out there sometime

I’d love to do Hurricane Creek. Looks like a beautiful area. Reminds me of back home in WV.
