ARB fridge vs Dometic

I'd love to own a fridge. Would be great for the Jeep and easy to run in the shop.

What I want is a fridge in a Pelican case...and the reason is I deploy for disaster response...last time I went to Louisiana for Hurricane Ida. Would be great to check one on a plane and have it survive the trip.

Usually I try and find a cooler to purchase...with my own funds...when I get to whenever I am going and then hope we have power, water and maybe ice.

Pelican case with a fridge would be great...could pack my recovery gear inside for the plane trip and then have cold water to hand out and drink.

Alright fellas so I have a question for you fridge owners. How do you keep shit from flying all over the place while wheeling? A traditional cooler has the ice that helps hold the contents in place but the fridge is just an open box. I was considering just tossing in a bag of ice but that seems to defeat the purpose of a fridge.

Never had an issue with that but I did flip the fridge on its side when I may have gotten a little too much air on the Poison Spider whoops section. The fridge was strapped down but not well enough.

I like to have extra water available so I throw a case of water in the Jeep for the trail. If I have space I toss a few more waters in during the day.

The fridge also has baskets so there’s three sections in the CFX40 I have which helps keep sandwich and snack stuff separate from the bottles too.

I don't have that issue so much, as I usually set up base camp, then go out to the rough stuff. Careful planning of meals could help a bit, lots of filler type ingredients in bags. I usually use the fridge at 0F though, so food is frozen... and I load it in the house right from the store, so the thawed items kind of form fit themselves...

I just don’t worry about it. My sandwich isn’t going that far. I know it’s way better than dealing with ice.
