Hi Guys. I've been monitoring this forum for a while now and it seems like a great place to share common interests. Decided to bite the bullet and register. I'll let you guys tell me what I might have here. My last Wrangler was a 1976 CJ7. Sold it in 1981. Until this year, I have been into Streetrods. I am now out of Streetrods and back into Jeeps. I have a 2014 Cherokee, a 2017 Grand Cherokee and just picked up this 2006 Wrangler X. I am the third owner of this gem. The first two owners were military stationed in Virginia. I bought it directly from the second owner. According to him, this Wrangler was never off roaded or seen rain or snow. The pics I have attached will attest to that. It is a 6 speed manual and is stock except for dealer installed 2" lift, Leather Trail Rated interior, and step bars. I believe the first owner added the Mickey Thompson wheels with 32 " Goodrich tires. It only had 13,400 miles on it when I bought it in August but I have added about 1800 miles or so since. The top and doors have never been off to my knowledge. The paint on the door hinges is unmolested. This beauty will never be a daily driver while in my possession and will only see the light of day (or night) during warm, dry summer days. Please tell me what you all think of this find. Any of your comments would be greatly appreciated.
In reading some of your threads here, I was wondering if I should change out the OPDA now or just wait until it starts screaming at me.

Thanks,
Denny

For an Ohio area TJ that's in amazingly good condition. I didn't even see any of the usually expected rust in the photos.
No rust Jerry, Came from Virginia. Never seen rain or snow. It was trailered to Ohio last spring in a covered trailer when 2nd owner was discharged. 2nd owner didn't want to get salt spray from wet roads on it.

Hard doors and a soft top make a good combination ,you will have a lot of fun in that. Lowering the top takes all of 10 minutes .

Its amazing there are still a lot of low mileage machines out there , a lot of people buy them as pleasure vehicles and just don't find the time they thought they would.

You will find this to be a great forum, there are a lot of good guys that know a ton on here and are happy to help you .

Very nice! The only thing I would change on that is fluids and belts/hoses, just because they are old. I'm at 130K on a stock OPDA.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Have not changed all the fluids yet, just oil and filter. And totally greased all fittings and lubricated cables. Belts and hoses look like new.

Super nice jeep, only thing I would change is find a stock air box and lose the K & N. They do nothing other than to allow bigger particles to enter the engine. They may be fine for the air breathing hot rods but the stock box is plenty good for a TJ.

He's telling you truthfully.... You really can't bolt on much to a 4.0 and get better performance unless it's a supercharger.

You can get far more performance by gearing that jeep down then you could by any other modification.
