So my wife & I were driving along at fairly low speeds, 30 mph or so, & the alarm started beeping. This is the alarm you get when someone forgets to fasten their seatbelt, when you forget your headlights are still on when you open the door to get out or that the parking brake is still engaged. There were no warning lights, we were both buckled up & there was no condition that would cause an alarm. The beeping stopped when I slowed down to around 10 or 15 mph (coincidence?).
This seems to be intermittent & doesn’t happen all the time. I haven’t had a chance yet to check the OBT port for any stored alarms, but I really don’t think that’s the problem. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Where should I start? I wouldn’t mind disabling the alarm completely, but I couldn’t find it listed with the fuses in the owner’s manual & I don’t want to disable anything else.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Most seat belt alarms go off eventually.
Not sure about turn signal alarm.

It's the turn signal on for more than a mile, at more than 15mph beeper. It goes off if turn signal cancelled, or speed drops below 15mph.

When this occurs and indicator isn't on, either the lights are on, and enough current is leaking back to the indicator input to the cluster from a bad ground, bad bulb, or bad bulb socket at the front. Or the switch is going bad and current is leaking inside the switch. This could be from corrosion the switch or connector, or a weak switch that is sagging slightly.

Next time it happens, try operating the indicator. One or other direction will cancel the beeper.

When this happened to me it was a melted mfs connector.

Wow! Thanks. I’ll check this out although the alarm hasn’t gone off for a few days now. This is really intermittent.

It could be a bad switch. You could probably check it by leaving the turn signal on and see if you get the same alarm. The best way to solve these issues is by trying to recreate the problem. If I have an issue, I try to rush to my mechanic before the problem goes away. If I go to my mechanic when the problem doesn't exist, he can't help me.
