Any recommendations for an aftermarket compass? I’m trying to find something that will fit in a standard 2-inch gage pod. I’ve been searching the internet and I can’t find any that's affordable anyway.
I brought a RitchieSport marine compass but it is going to take a lot of adapting to get it to fit and I would rather have a digital one.
Any advise or recommendations for anyone would be appreciated?

Affordable is in the 100$ range I have found some that might work but they were in the 3 to 500$ range. To rich for me to buy to see if it would fit.
I’m trying to fit a outside temp gage and compass in a standard three gage pod I have a RitchieSport x-23 and that would work but it is to long to fit in the housing that I have. It looks like it is going to be easier to rethink my mounting plans then fine a compass that would fit

Outside temperature and compass. How about a double DIN Auto Dim, Ambient Temp & Compass Mirror?
I've had this one for a few years. As long as you don't need actual degrees, this will do what you want and auto dim. Plus it's bigger than stock.

Pretty straightforward. Auto dimming mirror with a display that shows the ambient temperature and compass direction.
It replaces your stock mirror.. bolt in, one screw.

The ambient temp sensor gets mounted up front. Recommended location is beside the diff vent tube by the radiator, but I mounted mine up under the drivers side front fender.

Harness runs along the top of the windshield and down the a-pillar and if you have a later model TJ is hidden in the trim. I used black hot glue and glued it in place. You can't see it if you're not looking for it.

Some TJs have the harness and sensor stock. It would be under the defrost vent trim on the top of the dash on the passenger side.. I think. Mine didn't so I bough the kit from The TJ Mirror Company. I have the dual display, with auto dim, ambient temp and compass. They make one with just auto dim & the temp and another with auto dim temp, compass and Home Link programmable remote compatibility.

I have have an extra Double Din mirror (Auto Dim, Ambient Temp & Compass). And might have an extra sensor. I'd let go cheap. They are just sitting in my parts cabinet. I was going to try to make the harness but never got around to it so I just ordered the full kit. PM me if you're interested. Here are the instructions for making the harness.

BTW, if you put "@" in front of a members user name they will get an alert that you included them in the post. @TimC

Thanks, that is what I was hoping to find when I started down this road,
Thanks for the offer of the parts, but I'm going to play it safe and get one that comes with the factory harness. I'm not that confident in my wire-building skills.

Think I paid $110 for a Wolfbox dash cam/review camera mirror which also does a gps compass/ speed display if desired

Not a bad price either. Do you happen to have one installed?
