Disassembling my 97 4.0 engine to bring to my machine shop. They are going to do the machining, freeze plugs, etc but ill be doing rest of the rebuild.
So I need to lift my engine onto an engine stand to remove the head, cam/crank etc. For that part i used the recommended intake/exhaust manifold and / accessory bolt holes. Ill use the same lift points to get it into the truck.
So with the head removed now.... is it safe to lift the block from the engine mount bolt holes? Only challenge here is they dont cross the engine block center of mass well so it could be pretty unbalanced.
First time doing a rebuild... apologize if there's a easier way to do this.
Any recommendations on where to safely lift the block?
