Hey everyone, my ac blows pretty mediocre. Cold, but not cold eneugh for Florida heat. I recharged about 4 months ago and it is pretty consistent with air temp. It’s tolerable but not the best. I tracked down the leak, but I don’t know what this specific part is called. There are 2 places that I’m thinking as per the pictures. Could it be running down the pipe, is it where the lines connect to the condenser, or is it both? I bought the Jeep with the rubber zip tied on, id never half ass something like that. Thanks everyone. Edit: I forgot to add that when I turn off the Jeep, I hear a hissing noise from that area for about 5 seconds. It’s always done that. Could it be a a leak there aswell?

Could be as simple as an o-ring kit and some dielectric or silicone grease or spray. Every one of those connections has an o-ring inside.

I'd probably also change the receiver/drier at the same time, then check and see if it'll hold vacuum for 30 minutes.

Mine is leaking in the same spot ,I only have to add 1/4 can every couple years

Check the valve core under that red cap in your second picture. A few years back I opened the hood to check something and heard a slight hissing sound. I pulled the plastic cap and could feel it was under pressure as I opened it. Looked in there with a UV light (previous recharge was done with UV dye) and could see small bubbles coming out around valve core. Tightened up the core and the hiss went away.

Previous owner likely zip tied that piece of hose on there to protect the radiator hose from the metal crimp on the a/c hose.

Your 2nd pic...I believe mine (06) is a solid pipe, not a hose. Maybe not, but I know it does not look like that.

But that doesn't help you with a leak.

The hissing is normal where the pressure of the two sides of the system are equalizing thru the inline orifice.
On my '01 I had a similar leaking problem. I wiped and sprayed the affected areas to remove the residue to assist in locating the leak. The problem was the HP hose where the rubber line meets the compression collar and the condenser had a hair line crack. Replaced the HP line, system O rings and the condenser.
The A/C system is blowing nicely cool air now.

The A/c hose appears to be leaking at the crimp. Replace the hose. The hissing sound is the pressure between the high side and the low side equalizing when shut off. This is normal. The orfice tube is in the liquid line right in that area. ( the hose below the leaking line)

Replace those lines, and as mentioned by Mac, replace all of the o-rings as well and the receiver. You can find what you need on jeepair.com, most likely, if you can't get gin-u-wine mopar.
