Hi all, I’m having the following codes come up in my check engine light. P0443 P0481 and P0499. Yesterday I tried to swap out the coil pack and accidentally forgot to plug in 2 wires to the coil pack. I tried to start the kelp and would start then I realized that wires weren’t connected, o connected the wires then I started the car but check engine light come on. The electric fan stays on continuously when jeep is on, a/c clutch does not turn on. Can anyone help?

P0443, P0481, and P0499 are all related to the evaporative emissions system and the cooling fan operation.

P0443 refers to an issue with the EVAP system purge control valve circuit, which might have been affected when you were working on the coil pack. Double-check the connections and wiring related to the purge valve; make sure everything is securely connected and there are no damaged wires.

P0481 points to a possible problem with the cooling fan relay or circuit. Since you mentioned the electric fan is running continuously, it could be stuck in the on position due to a fault in the circuit or possibly a faulty relay. Inspect the fan relay and consider testing or replacing it if necessary.

P0499 suggests an issue with the EVAP system's purge flow. Again, this may be related to the earlier mentioned purge valve and its connections. Make sure the vacuum hoses to the valve are in good condition and securely attached.

Given that the A/C clutch isn’t activating, it’s possible that the A/C system is also affected by electrical issues or overheat protection measures due to the fan running continuously.

After checking all connections and related components, you could try clearing the codes and see if any return after troubleshooting.

Good luck, and keep us updated on what you find!

Hi, thank you for your response. I have checked everything you mentioned. I checked all the connections and coil pack. I can’t even reset the codes cuz they come right back on when I turn on the jeep. Jeep was just fine before last night. I

Have you had the Jeep smoked for leaks? Have you ever lost gauges or stalled while driving?

Jeep was running just fine and still runs fine now. I just did a whole tune up on it and left the coil pack for last since I was waiting for it to come in the mail. I have checked all the relays for the AC compressor and the low speed and high speed relay for the cooling fan and they all seem to be working condition. The only two plugs that I disconnected last night to install the coil pack was I think the mass sensor and the coil pack. And now I have the check engine light with those codes and can’t reset the computer or get rid of the codes. The jeep was running fine before this. No check engine light. No funkiness.
