Hello everyone I just wanted to hop on here and see if anyone has / had a similar issue with their Jeep . My Jeep is a 2006 4.0 L auto with 173k on it stock motor and it is my DD . I feel like when I’m driving to get up to speed I have to push the pedal down all the way like flooring it to get it to go . I feel like when I first bought it compared to now it’s not as get up and go anymore . I have a friend that’s a mechanic that gave me a few tips that it either is clogged cats or needing a fuel induction cleaning . Also I was looking at cats online and the cheap one I found was this one I’ll copy the link down below

First, be sure it's got recent plugs, O2s (NTK, Mopar only).

Put a bottle of Techron, etc in it.

Most exhaust shops can check for excessive backpressure from clogged cats.

Does the transmission downshift?

If not, get under the driver side, look up under the belly pad at the trans shift cable, some times it comes out of the brace and will affect downshifting.

You may also need to calibrate the cable at the throttle, and lastly, these cable braces on the valve cover also help downshifts by keeping the cable taught.

The spark plugs are supposed to be replaced every 30K mi, unless they are platinum or iridium.

I don't think there is a mileage replacement for the o2s.

NTK is the original manufacturer of the Mopar O2s. Don't use anything else.

He has the 42RLE. All shifting is controlled by the PCM.
