I'm a fellow khaki TJ owner - it's such a good color on these Jeeps. You have a great looking Jeep!

Glad you're enjoying it open air! Looking forward to following along as you make it yours.

I have the same rear bumper, but it's not currently mounted. I've thought about painting the cross member in the area where the logo cutout is the same as the body color so that the cutout is more prominent. I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen it done before.

Did you use the AEV paint? I've used it in the past and it has worked well. Curious how it will look with the clear on top as I've never used clear on a bumper.

What do you use to protect the paint? I used rustoleum matte black. It’s very similar to the AEV paint. First bumper I’ve painted lol. I just assumed clear was necessary. Is it not?

I've only ever needed to reapply paint once due to a small scrape with a rock.

I painted my sliders and both bumpers a couple of years ago. Primer + satin black paint - turned out really nice.... but now I've got rock chips that bug me. Wish I would have topped it off with the clear.

Yea I’m in no hurry to get it done. Taking my time with it. Gonna throw some matte clear over this when I get done with the last coat.
