Hey guys. I’m working on my son’s 02 TJ Sport. When he goes to crank it, the starter spins rapidly, but it won’t turn the engine. What I’ve done so far-
1. New battery- his was dead, so I took the new battery out of my 05 and put it in his.
2. Changed the starter relay
3. Took off the starter and had it tested. It passed, but barely, so I replaced it.
4. His cables were toast, so I put in new battery cables
So, enough power is getting to the starter to make it turn, but not enough to turn the engine. It spins strongly, so I know it’s getting some power. The battery was cranking mine right before I put it in his, so I know it’s good. The cables are good. The starter is good too.
What should I hunt down next?
