    Heater core: old vs new

Mid winter update. The NAPA heater core is working just fine, however from last winter to this winter there is a huge difference in the amount of heat the NAPA heater core produces vs the previous one. If I had known what I had originally I would certainly go with the thicker core for sure. I...

    Heater core: old vs new

I do have heat, it does feel hot but it’s not cold here yet so I guess time will tell soon enough. I am going to assume the heater core was replaced before I did find it online It looks like a thicker core would be better for flow at least anyway and the price wasn’t that bad either. I bought...

    Heater core: old vs new

Something tells me I’m going to be disappointed. Heater core went , I ordered a new one from NAPA . Pulled it this weekend. And found this copper one. I don’t think that was OEM but it looks much larger than the replacement. Will I be disappointed with the heat? I had good heat last winter.

    Steering issues, box? or not?

I found the bolt that holds the track bar in at the axle was just slightly loose, and the star was stripped. So after welding a nut onto it an removing the bolt and flag nut, I was able to properly tighten that, which improved the steering quite a bit, but not 100%. I still think the box is too...

    Steering issues, box? or not?

I'm taking a break from my wiring issues to tackle the steering. One issue I have had with the jeep since I've had it is the steering seems to " stick" . Meaning if I turn it right or left it doesn't come back to center on it's own. I also constantly have to " adjust" the steering as I go down...

Can someone help identify this wiring?

Does anyone know how to de-pin the wires from the connector? I bought a group of tools off of Amazon, and spent a good couple hours trying to remove the metal pin that the wire came out of.

Can someone help identify this wiring?

When I got this jeep it had remnants of a soft top. The hard top was long gone. This jeep does have the switches for the wiper and defroster for a hard top though. As far as the ground wire for cavity nine , thank you for that. I will try to find that wire. I didn’t receive any notification on...

Can someone help identify this wiring?

I’m back working on my 98 , it has electrical gremlins. I pulled the gauges and a blue wire fell away from the right connector. I’m having a hell of a time removing the metal pin from the plastic connector to put it back and recrimp it then I started to wonder if it’s even factory wiring. I...

I’ve been working on my step son’s jeep since February. Long story which led to replacing the engine. Acquired a good used engine. Can someone please help identify the year of this 2.5 block?

I’m re- ringing this engine, bought new Hastings rings. Oil ring doesn’t fit. The rings I bought according to summit racing’s website will fit most 2.5l from 94-02. The jeep is a 97 however the engine is toast. This engine was given to me, for the most part the engine is very good candidate , I...

Firewall dash stud broke off. Can it be replace?

I was able to secure 3 out of the 4 and did secure where the squeak was. I may just leave this one alone and deal with it if I ever have to replace the heater core.

While searching to resolve a dash squeak i came across thesestuds that had no nuts on them. I was able to source the correct nuts from a parts Jeep same year. This on my 1998. The picture below is the stud on the passenger side Far right. It was extremely rusted and I could not get in with a...

Advice needed, 97 TJ 2.5 with coolant in oil

So the saga continues… it was a cracked head , I bought a machine es head locally from an automotive machine shop, which turned out to be machined too much, which in turn caused some damage to a lifter. I sourced another engine and used the head off of that, got the jeep running , found the bad...

A/C low pressure line replacement questions

My Gunmetal 98 jeep has A/C, with the warmer weather here I figured I would try to see if it worked. The switches inside I can hear the switch activating, but the clutch was not engaging. So I bypassed the low pressure switch to test that, and the clutch engaged. Now I wanted to see if the...
