Are you wearing a skirt over there (no need for photos :D), and if so, how do the natives react?

What did you do to your TJ today?

We have a Duralast Keurig coffee maker. Bought it 7 years ago, with a 1 year warranty. It died a few days after 1 year. They replaced it, for free. Rinse, repeat. We've had a new one every year since then, for free, because they build them so badly. The most recent one died last week after only...

Barnett cover: is this a problem?

Adjustable control arms? Draw the whole front axle back a little?

Bond it or Screw it to Dashboard?

I stuck a small instrument to the same spot in my Jeep using double-sided 3M / Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape. If you have a lot of flat surface under your 3D printed platform for the tape, it will probably do the trick (solid bottom, not grid or honeycomb). Watch out for "3M" or "Scotch" tape on...

    Rear wiggle when driving

If you don't narrow it down to the specific part causing the problem before you replace everything, you'll never know. Pry against the track bar joints, and every other joint, find the mushiest one. Replace that part first and test drive, until you nail the culprit. Then fire the parts canon. :)

Car pics too cool not to share

I was there. I'm smiling. Although my '68 Camaro tires weren't quite that fat.

    New Tool Day

I like to buy a set of 6-points, and then let my wife collect various 12-points from garage sales (dirt cheap, toss the bad ones). Of course, Florissant might be garage-sale-challenged.

231J transfer shifter wont go to 2WD, stuck in neutral

Like Mac said, it's hard to tell from a picture at that angle. Need to remove front driveshaft and shoot pictures more straight on to see it well enough. On mine, as near as I can see with the DS and skid in place: 4-Lo = lever is to the rear, almost touching the housing, about 5:15 or 5:30 N =...

TJ ride quality issue – spacers, mixed shocks, and minimum lift for 33s

    New Tool Day

Ain't the Internet wonderful? First, it gives us access to stuff we didn't even know existed, at great prices. Then, everybody chats online about the good products and prices. Then, the vendor raises prices, due to our own praise of their products. We should all buy stuff, and if it's good...

    New Tool Day

Sheesh! Those Tekton sockets have more than tripled in price over 3 years. I just looked up a metric set I bought 3 years ago for $35, now $114. Was thinking about getting an SAE set to match, but I'll have to wait for Christmas. (Christmas in July) ;)

    New Tool Day

I think Tekton is fine. Use a 1/2" breaker bar and an impact socket. Try to tighten very slightly, then try to loosen, back and forth. Sometimes that will get it broken free.

    New Tool Day

Try a black impact socket. They're a little more flexy, less brittle.

Congratulations, John! And thanks @mrblaine , what a nice surprise. I'll get in touch.

Integrating TJ Systems Into a CJ-8 Tub – Looking for TJ-Specific Guidance

The tranny is great on paper. It would be great in reality if they hadn't made it of glass. As I understand it, parts for it are pure unobtainium. I actually like mine. But I know its bad habits (reverse), and I have to account for them.
