    The official idiot driver thread

The left lane of a multiple lane highway is for passing, not cruising along, and certainly not for leading a parade. I really try not to pass on the right but sometimes it’s the only way to get around the person that is more comfortable in that lane even when driving slower than other traffic...

What did you do to your TJ today?

I have read all the debates about front or rear locker, I got a front as Scorpion Off-road said ‘you have to start somewhere’ and the front differential needed work so no extra labor cost throwing in the locker. So much better in the mud and no issue crawling over areas ATVs usually go… it was...

What is the official design speed for a TJ?

I prefer to drive mine in the Smokey Mountains or Cherokee National forest at about 5mph but admit I will go up to 60 mph to get there… it ain’t about the destination it’s about the trip. Enjoy it. While y’all that daily drive your TJs- all the best. I drive mine whenever I can but the...

    The official idiot driver thread

Lived in FL for almost 50 years and thought Floridians can’t drive, live in TN now and drive to surrounding states and realize PEOPLE don’t know how to drive. But you can cut off a Tesla in the left lane of a highway going below the speed limit and be confident the car will brake 🤣🤣🤣

What did you do to your TJ today?

Well didn’t do it as working too much but paid for Scorpion Off Road in Cleveland Tn to find and fix a vibration and the front differential bearings were shot so since that had to be opened might as well start somewhere and put in a elocker, new driveshaft and a real Sye- had a worn out hack and...

    New guy from Texas

Great Jeep- have fun with it. 35 + tires are so popular around here but I bought a Jeep with 35 and went to 33s. I run the smallest tires but I can go everywhere everyone else goes… do what you like.

Need help / recommendations for rear locker

Appreciate OkieJoe bringing this up. Had a great ride yesterday and needed 4 low (2001 Sahara 3.73 and 33s- factory Dana 44 ‘anti spin’ ) to get through some deep muddy ruts and guy in front with a JK and a rear locker stayed in 2 wheel drive… he said get a rear locker, he can go places in 2w...

Downsize to 33’s: Considering reverting back to stock fenders from Metalcloak arched soon after

4 inch lift PO had worn out 35s, went to Mickey Thompson 33s (15 x 10) and i am very happy with on and off road performance. We have the smallest tires in our group, but most have JK or JL and a few gladiators all with bigger wheels. Ain’t about the show it’s the go!

What did you do to your TJ today?

New Husky Liner floor mats in black. They fit perfect, no sliding. The material is thinner then the thick rubber distorted my heat and sliding around floor mats they replace. These weren’t cheap at $90 but they are designed and made in USA and guaranteed forever so whatever the material is...

Removing rubber clutch and brake pedal covers

Haven’t earned that spot, bought our TJ in June and some of these guys have been riding these mountains for 40 years- appreciate them letting us join em. My wife and I are wondering why we didn’t do this Jeep thing sooner. Best medicine in the world-

Removing rubber clutch and brake pedal covers

Bahahahahaha. I was off-roading with a group here and we did chestnut and sugarloaf mountains in SE TN- spent most of day in 1st gear but learned that rubber piece on the clutch pedal really can make a difference!
