I’m busy building my shop every weekend but have no problem dropping everything for a trail run and my rig is ready. Name a date and place and I’ll be there. Morning definitely sounds best.

I grew up at the drag strip, but 8’s is too much pucker factor for me. So sad that The 2nd muscle car era is almost dead. R.I.P. American muscle.

I can imagine how much fun that ride is. Reminds me of my V8 swapped Chevy LUV I had in high school. It ran high 10’s low 11’s. My guess he was pretty close to that.

I agree. Mine are removed for a smidge more tank raising.

The purpose of those is to maintain a space between the bottom of the tub and the plastic fittings of the fuel pump and vent lines in an accident. In a rear end collision where the tank would get shoved up into the tub, they would get broken and increase the risk of fire.

To check if a bent or binding ball joint is the problem, pop the tie rod off the knuckle, then swing that wheel through the full range of steering. There should be no bind. It should basically flop from one stop to the other. Repeat for other wheel.

What year is that from? I had to go double check, but this is what I have. Your jeep is newer and has the Mercedes steering box, correct? That might be why the difference. His 97 would have the Saginaw box in it.
