Can anyone sell me on the Ft. Worth area?

Never lived there, but I lived in San Antonio most of my life and visited the area a bit. It's not the worst place in Texas, but I never heard many glowing opinions of the area. Heavy traffic was often cited as a pain point. Still, Texas is overall a good state if you like warm weather and...

How do you find Jeep trails?

I've found the DNR to be a pretty good resource for finding info on trails, at least here in MN. Looks like Washington has a page that might be useful as well. It's also handy for finding info on any registration that might be needed for off-roading. https://www.dnr.wa.gov/go

Harbor Freight Torque Wrenches $9.99 until 2/17/2020

I've heard good things about their "professional" torque wrench, which runs closer to the $100 range, but I haven't looked too closely at their cheaper one yet, so I get a bit skeptical about people's references towards HF torque wrenches since there's a big price gap between the two and people...

    The Jeep Gladiator is Struggling

Housing is definitely a big part of that as well as housing prices continue to rise, but you're spot on that personal debt is on the rise, particularly when it comes to auto debt. https://www.newyorkfed.org/microeconomics/hhdc.html...

    The Jeep Gladiator is Struggling

I'm not a pickup truck person at all, but this is one of the only pickups that I would legit want to own.

    The Jeep Gladiator is Struggling

A slowdown of the auto industry could be pretty scary, particularly since there's already a glut of steel that's been produced, which has already hit prices in that sector hard. Some in that industry have been calling this the "steelmageddon". Hopefully it's just a bump in the road to...

    TJ Carpet Options

This got me to thinking if there was something besides carpet that would do something similar without strictly being carpet. For some reason, my mind went to astroturf...and of course, it turns out that someone has already done this to a car before...

    5 Quarts of Pennzoil (free-ish)

I'm generally the same. I wonder what Penzoil expects from people swapping to their product for one oil change. I can't imagine that there's anything that would be noticeably different no matter what you tried.

    Back in the day

Man, there are some beautiful pictures in this thread. I really miss the paint style of older Jeeps from the 70s/80s Jeeps. New cars look so dull in comparison.

Why do some people cover their license plates for photos?

Apparently if you throw some cash at it, you can find info on someone from their license plate number...

    Tire recommendations?

I went with Duratracs and love 'em. This is my first winter driving with them and they definitely handle pretty well.

    Passenger cup holder

I think I saw a post around here a while back regarding that original cup/phone holder. Someone pointed out that in the event that the airbag deploys, it could potentially be dangerous.

    The Jeep Gladiator is Struggling

Anecdotally, I know that it's very rare that I see one on the roads, but this isn't exactly pickup country like many other parts of the U.S. I can definitely see how the price would be restrictive though, compared to other options. Then again, a lot of modern cars nowadays still give me...

    Idaho, anyone?

Looks like a beautiful area. And if you plan on taking a UHaul, it's a good thing you have a hard top. If I remember right, they don't allow you to tow with a soft top.

Lifted trucks for street use: Why?

From my experience watching lifted trucks in Texas, apparently it helps you drive faster on the highway. I'm guessing this because it always seemed that the bigger the lift, the faster and more wreckless the person would drive.

    2021 Ford Country Squire

Man, I can feel the boat-like sway from turning corners by just looking at that thing. 😂

    2021 Ford Country Squire

I'm from the 80s, but that still reminds me of my mom's old station wagon, lol! Well, except that thing is even uglier. It's like they took the terrible brown and yellowish tones from the old wood panelling and smeared them across as if they were somehow more modern looking without the faux...

Where can I get a cheap hard top?

Keep an eye on Craigslist too. They pop up every once in a while.
