I think my brake caliper is locked up. I'm pretty sure my rotor turned while putting on tires. Not enough sleep or daylight causes too many mistakes. I'll post later today.
 
Rotor was jammed up after I put the tire on. Have to check that out this weekend. The axle is fine.
 
Ahh, that would make sense. Didn't even think about that, but a jammed brake caliper could definitely be the culprit.
 
Up and running!! The issue with my axle not turning was due to me using my new rotors I had on the Dana 30. With no brake caliper on the rotor I had to use my rubber mallet to knock it loose.There might be a size difference (1998 Dana 30-2006 Rubicon Dana 44?) because when I used the rotors that came with the axles it all works fine. Anyway I have it together minus the driveshaft and aligned and steering wheel straight. Driveshaft tomorrow. Maybe I'll call it Sporticon half Sport half Rubicon what do you think? I think it feels a lot more solid with less tire wandering. M/T's are just so wonderful on pavement. NOT

Damn I just remembered I now have to hook up my air pumps and switches:D

Ahhh, the fun never ends!

Well, I'm glad it wasn't something more serious. It usually ends up being the most simplest explanation (at least in my experience).

Bought the Spiderweb Shade to keep out the direct sun. Had it on for a couple of weeks now and love it.

Time to dust off the tools and this thread. Brown Santa is coming tomorrow with a new steering system. Currie Currectlynk, steering stabilizer, Pittman arm.

What's the issue with dropped pitman arms? I thought it was required after adding a lift of 4" or more?

Very few other times would a dropped Pitman arm be needed and those don't occur until you get to around the 6" suspension lift height. Installing a dropped Pitman arm any other time is just going to cause Bump Steer.

So while a dropped Pitman arm is generally always needed after installing a suspension lift onto a CJ or a YJ, rarely is one needed for a TJ due to the TJ's improved steering geometry design."
In other words, if you install a dropped pitman arm on your TJ, you'll be opening a can of worms, especially with bump steer.

Thanks for that info Jerry! I have had both a 69 Ford Bronco and 95 Cherokee and both had drop track bar brackets and I did use drop pitman arms on them, but on this TJ I used an adjustable trackbar without the drop bracket, so it sounds like I don't need a dropped pitman arm! :)

Well it's in. Thanks to This forum for help.(Jerry) Driving Feels a bit strange. I guess I was used to a worn out steering system. Plus a dropped pittman which had the drag link way down compared to a stock pittman arm. Drove it to test and realigned tires and steering wheel and drove to work this morning which is 30 miles . Kind of hard to tell how much better it is in a 20 MPH north wind blowing across the road. Stayed between the white lines so there's that. I will re check everything tonight when I get back home to make sure all is tight.
