What did you do to your TJ today?

Cleaned her up a bit and went for quick drive…. Waved at a JL owner as I drove past one of the bays, 15 minutes later he pulled in behind me to talk ‘Jeep’ lol
He was originally from South Africa and owned 2 TJs….. he has since owned 2JK’s and now is lifted JL. (he wouldn’t let me take a photo of it though 🤔 )View attachment 656759

Probably thought you were stalking him...........

That was your first mistake. 🤫

JL owners are snobs.

He seemed like a nice bloke…just paranoid lol

Alright boys....you can download the write-up and STL files in a zip archive located here (my domain), archive password is "WTF". Hit me up in a PM here if you have any questions or issues using the files, I'll do what I can to assist. Hopefully the info included in the documentation will cover.

Nice looking tails, @mrblaine (y)

Looks like the link doesn't work anymore?

Parked my tj for a week while it was raining. Time to put the hardtop on if it isn't getting driven. Not the kind of surprise i like. Little bastards!

I have to park mine at my brother's house during the week (HOA rules here). I had the same thing happen to my Jeep and car. This natural stuff (peppermint, cinnamon, and garlic oils) has worked for me to stop them. I spray it in the engine bay and anywhere I think they might chew the wiring.

Probably because they like spending other people's money instead of their own. Lol

I can't argue with that logic one bit.

Anyways, got the Warn all cleaned up. Added new bearings to it and apparently this motor is 6-6.4hp when they were supposed to have a 4hp? Guess the previous owner swapped it out.

Man, why do other Jeep people always get pissy whenever I say I'm not turning my TJ into a rock crawler or hardcore rig?

Here are my mods on my 2006 LJR: WARN front bumper and winch, SONY stereo. That's it. I like it just the way it is and it has never left me stranded. It's your Jeep — do what you like!!

I leave the windows out all the time. I was playing with fire, all the oak trees and acorns to feed the damn rodents. I'll look into that spray for engine compartments for sure

I need to get some of that for the TJ and RV.

There is a guy outside of Lexington, KY that rebuilds those. I know he drives all over the eastern half of the US getting them. He's a great guy and a personal friend.

Drove Ruby to work today. On my test drive Saturday thought everything seemed fine, but I am thinking there is a vibration now. Since the front driveshaft was balanced I’ll get the rear balanced.

I suspect once the rear driveshaft is out i can go 65-70 in 4WD high with just the front driveshaft in? It’s a LJR so there isn’t a slip yoke in the rear so everything is sealed up.

I'm almost there with the wiring for my aux battery. There is only one wire where I can't find a suitable one to connect to:

That's the thin, blue wire in the image. It's supposed to go to a positive wire controlled by the cars ignition. I thought easy, just grab it from the cigarette lighter. But the positive wire to the cigarette lighter is always on; it appears to be the negative wire that gets disconnected when I turn the key.
What is the best place to pick? I'm not really a sparky, so it's a challenge. maybe someone can explain it for dummies 🙂
