Colorado Krew Hangout

We were lucky spring creek was clear. It's been really mild. Speaking of SC, it's a good thing you didn't go. The boulder fields are awful now. That trail has changed a bunch in just a year or two. I didn't even recognize a part I was looking for. And just ask inkedrose...he got turtled on the same rocks as me and we both have lockers šŸ™ƒ

i was already deciding it wasn’t going to be for me, and then JjVW came in with the hammer and made it abundantly clear to not slow you guys down.

we’ll be looking forward to the video on your channel.

we will be headed to Germany for Christmas this year m so lockers are still possible in February, but most likely March.

Alloy USA makes a u-joint that has a solid core and each cap is separately grease able. This makes them stronger than a regular u-joint that takes grease. Should last longer. I have been running them for 4 years now and no issues. They are a bit more but worth it.

What shafts are you running? The u joints caps crack and pop out after the yokes at the shaft stretch.

front or rear? i’ve got a stock front and rear and a spare tom woods rear

Front passenger. I still haven't checked what side the extra front I have laying around is lol

It was a non greasable one that broke!

Just picked up a set of Walker Evans Beadlocks and my tire machine mounts/dismounts them with relative ease. I know finding a tire shop to work on beadlocks can be challenging, so if any of the Krew needs to mount some tires you’re welcome to come up here and use the machine. You’ll be doing the labor, happy to give guidance, and you must take your old tires with you, but we can get it done. I have a balancer, but it isn’t that great, so you’re on your own there and bring weights that fit your wheel if you want to try it. 37’s are probably the max, 38’s might squeeze in there. Send me a PM if you need help.

You are awesome. We've floated the idea of a tire machine for a long time.

I missed wheeling with you guys this week (even with Adam's ink), I think my kids are past the ages I can be a decent coach - so hopefully I can do more next season.

Looking forward to wheeling/meeting you, so far everyone I’ve met from the forum is top notch.

I’m a drive for you metro folk, east of Wellington 11 miles, but the shop is pretty well equipped and I’m more than willing to loan it as long as you take your trash with you! :ROFLMAO:

Did Mike tell you about the stripper glitter I failed to clean up fully one time? My wife was even asking questions about what the hell we did.

I can’t say he did, but hey, the Den is only about 20 minutes away from me if the scent of baby powder and appearance of glitter is the attraction. My wife would undoubtedly go with. Haven’t been there in about 15 years, might be time to hit it up. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

that’s awesome, thanks for the offer,

i personally have always wanted to try the balancing beads, but you’ve got to find the right shop or do it by yourself.

Seems like there are a lot of varied opinions on running beads. I am getting ready to pull mine back out and just static balance my current set of tires. I have not been thoroughly impressed and the balance has never been great.

I started with around 8 oz, went to 12oz, and stopped at 16oz. I'm tired of breaking the inner bead down to add beads without any measurable improvement.

I will go back to zero and drive it to see how bad it is before I use tape weights. I guess if it really drives like crap, I will know they did something.
