Not sure what they're called. They're likely threaded into nutserts on the inside of the rocker panel. Basically, open the door and look at the sheet metal under the door sill. There is likely something threaded in there. Whether the nuts or bolts are accessible from that side, I have no idea.

If you don't see any fasteners on the back side they might be glued. Heatgun and scraper to pry off. Thront part is the same as standard Wrangler flare trim that has 2 or 3 fasteners on back side and possibly the rear section is glue

They're called Sahara Rocker Panel Trim Pieces...and there are screws on the bottom under the jeep, and after these are loose, you pull it out a little and push up, the top is held in place by a simple open channel. After that, you drill the rivets out of that channel, and out it comes. I would only do this if you plan to cover up the old holes with an actually rocker guard or rock rails or something otherwise you will have 14 or so exposed holes on the side of the tub.

Hope that helps!

So I am about to do the opposite: put the Sahara Rocker Trim/Flare onto a TJ that never had them. Anyone know what size and thread bolts I need to attach them on the underside?

Edit: I looked. The holes on the underside are not threaded. Just get some nuts and bolts for the underside. The real job is installing nutserts for the 'channel' that the piece clips on to along the top edge, just below the door.

when I took them off, they appeared to be the same size and thread as what holds the fender flares on. They threaded into nutserts.

@SSTJ did you figure it out? If so, please share details, might do the same

I like @Vtx531's reply.

But, I actually just used the bolts and nuts on the underside, which go through the un-threaded holes in the body. Then instead of installing the channel that the piece clips into on the top, I actually ... don't laugh now ... I actually just got a strip of adhesive magnetic tape. See, I'm not sure how long I'm keeping this look, and just wanted to try it out. These pieces are just plastic, and very lightweight, and the bulk of the weight is being held up by the bolts on the bottom. This magnetic tape just holds the top end against the body so it doesn't flap around.

I suppose you could also use 3M tape for something slightly more permanent. Or go the whole way and install the channel. I'm just doing this for the time being, since I will probably drop the rocker panel pieces and the skateboard side-steps whenever I buy some proper sliders.

i have both the right and left sides i had bought for mine but the body shop got one with the replacement panel. i paid $75 for the pair on ebay. i'll let you have them for that and shipping if you aint in a big hurry, I will have to find a box to put them in.

Thanks for this! Removing mine today and replacing with rocket panels with step rail. Super helpful. Especially the diagram!
Personally I would leave them on, to me they are part of what makes a Sahara stand out from the other models.
When I first got my 65th I wanted to put Wrangler hood and 4.0 sports decals on? Glad I was convinced not too as they would have already been removed by now.

Actually, we had to cut some rust out and cap the frame a few months ago. The caps do not account for the original side steps so the decision was made to get new side steps with rock rails. It would be difficult.to.keep.these and still install rock sliders with side steps unless the nerf bar type which I'm not a fan of.
