Where to store traction mats on TJ?

Blue Ridge Overland Gear markets a series of tire storage bags, one of which is specifically designed for traction mats.

I have a BROG "XL Tire Storage Bag" which I find superior to the commonly used Trasharoo (and worth the extra cost). One can add BROG's "Maxtrax Transport Bag" or use one as a standalone bag. (I do not own traction mats so I have no first hand experience with the Maxtrax bag, but there are videos on the company's website.)

From their website:

BTW, Trasharoos are now manufactured in China. All of BROG's products are made in the U.S.A.

This is wonderful. Do you mind sharing how you fabbed up the through wheel mounting system?

I previously posted about a traction mat bag that mounts to the spare tire. At the time I did not own traction mats. I have since purchased a pair of MaxTrax boards for my Sprinter and devised the following to mount them to my spare tire and interchange with my Blue Ridge Overland Gear spare tire storage bag when I'm not carrying the boards:

I purchased an extra mounting kit for my Blue Ridge Overland Gear spare tire storage bag, added some custom straps from Strapworks in Oregon, a couple of hooks from Home Depot, and cut down an old leather belt to eliminate rubbing between the traction boards and the spare tire.

Please note that there are posts on the Internet warning that the nubs on the back of traction boards can damage the tire sidewall. I solved that by using an angle grinder to remove two nubs.

That looks great! And thank you for the heads up about the sidewall damage, that looks pretty rough.

I definitely would not store those things inside the vehicle. After use they are going to be full of sand or mud.
