What did you do to your TJ today?

Are you @Kiwi TJ "Hobbit" short? ;) I've always found that steps put you too high to get in. Even my 5'2" wife gets in my Jeep with ease.....and lots of complaining.
p.s. If I had DDDDs, she'd have to stay home. 🥳

Who needs steps….I step back from my Jeep about 10 feet so I can take a good run up and jump into the driver seat 😂

Lightweight is best. Supposed to be a 4" lift?? That is a huge difference. I bet you'd notice that on the trails too.

You can always do the stepstool on a string 😀

I’m thinking I’ll have a step stool like Victor does for his wife. Right now I grab her butt and help her get in the Red one. The SilverFox will be just for trails mostly, so she said she could deal with no steps for trails. Still bringing a step stool! @Kiwi TJ she jokes about running and jumping into the Jeep!

lol My mum is 83 and only 4 ft 8in… so I bring a 3 step ladder for her to climb in and out of, and my Jeep isn’t lifted ( yet )
( she loves riding around doorless)

When you say it like that maybe you don't want steps 🤣

Genright. A bit spendy.

Pretty lame Genright only offers the armor in steel. UCF offers aluminum, but their design is incomplete (looks awful). I would have begrudgingly chose Genright over UCF as well.

I've seen light bar brackets out there that are 25%-35% the Genright cost but the coverage isn't usually as good.

Yeah, the $$$ is outrageous for the Genright A-Pillar armor but there are really no other choices. The UCF ones suck. The GR are only 1/8” because they don’t follow the windshield frame perfectly so you have to get the lower bolts in place so you can clamp the top to mark your holes for the nutserts. So after you install them they are under constant tension.

I could get past the cost better if I knew it wouldn't be heavier than it needs to be and would not want to rust on me. GR are jerks for not offering an aluminum version.

But UFC's incomplete design is even worse with the protection stopping near the top (smh).

I think an aluminum version would be under constant load and fatigue at the tig welds.

My guess is it’s due to cost and lack of effort.
After having a UCF aluminum windshield armor, I can say it is lack of effort. I have their transfer case skid and gas tank skid in aluminum and really like them; they are well made. I was highly disappointed with the windshield armor to the point I just tossed them in the scrap pile.

Did the tune up today - new NGK plugs & wires, cap and rotor from Summit Racing's house brand.

Glad I finally did it too. I had a mechanic do an inspection after I bought it, he said they were good. I think these are 1998 original plugs and wires, all were Mopar. The electrodes were so worn compared to the new plugs.

Finally got around to figuring out why one tire was losing almost 10lbs a week too. Valve stem failed after only a year!

Continued working on the GR rock sliders. Painted the upper on the backside with Weld Thru Primer and the rest with self etching. Note in the top picture how well and quickly (3-4min) the HF surface conditioning tool works with the rough wheel. Strips the paint right off!

Removed the cowl which had two areas completely bare and rusting. I did the prep today. I ordered some 2K fill primer and will be here next week. Trying to get all painting done before cooler weather. So, hoping to get the painting done next Thursday.
