What's everyone's gas mileage?

4.0, 5 spd, 3.07, 33" tires. I THINK I'm getting about 18 mpg, but I'm guessing at how far my speedo is off. Mostly interstate driving right now. I'll check my speedo error in a day or two.

2001 Wrangler Sport/4.0L engine, 3-speed automatic transmission with 3.07 differential gears and for now because of gearing P215-75-R15 BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. My last mileage check showed 13 MPG driving nothing but "stop and go" heavily congested city traffic running no A/C. I'm WAY past due for a road trip where I'm sure my mileage would be better!

I checked to see if there are any fluid dynamics analysis on a Wrangler to correlate the vehicle shape with gas mileage. It appears that a cow would get better mileage.

Seriously, if you even care remotely about gas mileage you should not own a Jeep-I have a lot of cars, one is a Hybrid and gets almost 40 mpg (it is a full-sized American car too, not a tiny, underpowered Jap econobox), but I also have a number of large vehicles with V8's and carb's, in some cases even they get better gas mileage than my 98 TJ with a 4.0 and 31 x 10.5 All Terrain TA's...It is a brick on wheels, it will go places that all my other cars won't go, but it is NOT economical to own or drive. It is a statement, a toy, an American icon. Try not to make it something it will NEVER be.

Yes, mine is 100% stock and a manual. I've tried driving as conservative as possible but it still seems like I'm losing MPG!

Straight six, 5-speed, 3.73 gear ratio, with 235/75/15R Goodyear Wrangler Radial tires, sticking to 60mph at the most on the highway, I get around 18mpg. That's assuming I stay on the highway - whenever I get stuck in city traffic it drops.

I also drive extremely slow in general and am passed by everyone when the light turns green.

Eh. I hear that a lot. I don’t think that’s what this post is about. I average 16 mpg on a 42LRE auto on 4:10 gears. I dropped to 11 mpg for a week and couldn’t figure it out. Light bulb. I forgot to air back up.

Not sure of my mileage and honestly I don't want to know. It sure was nice having 26 gallons on board during my last road trip.

I track my mileage with an app and since I've owned the LJ (July 2016) I've driven 4449 miles and average 13.12 mpg. Mostly around town driving but some highway runs where I got 15-16 as the peak.

Stock LJ with 31" tires, 6 speed, 3.73 gears, 215k miles.

In contrast my daily driver is a 2006 Ram 2500, auto, 2WD, diesel, mega cab and it has averaged 15.47 mpg over 46,832 miles. Peak around 21.5mpg occasionally.
